When fast-growing production company Lin Pictures began shopping for a new home, they settled at an abandoned USPS sorting facility in Historic Filipinotown, and eventually purchased the neighboring property as well. Utilizing the existing mezzanine for the main client, the bulk of the first floor was designed as a sublease for Warner Animation Group.
Tying in the neighboring property, which was composed of three separate structures, provided an exciting opportunity to develop the intermediate area as an open green space for all users of the campus to enjoy.
Rideback Ranch was a unique and challenging project that offered BOTO Design the chance to work on a variety of different spaces within one overarching paradigm. It was important to Ownership that the campus be accessible to the surrounding community, and that the project be woven into the existing fabric of the neighborhood rather than constructing a “fortress” of creative office, completely unrelated to and ignorant of its setting.
